Frequently Asked Questions
What days and times do you deliver?
We deliver Monday – Friday (Saturday’s are by appointment only and you must call by Friday before 11AM – no delivery on Sunday’s) daily at a pre-arranged estimated time between 10AM-6PM to make sure your items are delivered fresh from the store and straight to you. Please contact us to arrange your personal delivery time. We generally offer a 2 hour window for delivery times. Agreed upon delivery times are only an estimate and cannot be held to an exact hour/minute/second due to factors beyond our control and we cannot guarantee deliveries at a specific time. Additionally, once an order is placed there will be no refunds based upon delivery time discrepancies. Email or call us for Holiday or Emergency orders/ times. *Additional $10.00 fee will apply for rush orders*
Do you have a fee?
Our fee is $30 and $25 for Seniors, Veterans and Active Military.
Is there a gas surcharge? Where do you deliver?
We deliver throughout all of the city of Port Saint Lucie. We charge a $3.00 gas surcharge for deliveries outside Saint Lucie West & Tradition. We do not normally deliver outside the city limits of Port Saint Lucie, however, from time to time on a per case basis we do deliver to surrounding cities for a higher fee that includes two-way mileage charges. Please contact us for questions.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards through PayPal using our email address email@example.com – we can give you instructions to help if you need them. You can determine which method you wish to use during the checkout process, or call us to help you. All orders must be prepaid prior to delivery.
Do I need to “tip” the delivery person?
Tipping is voluntary, always accepted and greatly appreciated!
How Do Adjustments To My Grocery Receipt Work?
Glad you asked! The estimate given for your grocery amount may end up being under or over, once the actual grocery receipt is obtained for the purchase. GSOD hand-delivers or sends a picture of the actual receipt, upon delivery of groceries. If the estimate was over the actual grocery bill, a refund is processed to the card used, through PayPal, the same day. If the estimate was under, GSOD will send you a PayPal invoice for the difference and expects the bill to be paid the same day. Likewise, some regular customers prefer to have any overages rolled over on their account, to be used toward the next grocery order. In those cases, we still provide the receipt and notify customers regarding how much money is left on the account to be applied to the next purchase.
What if I am missing an item?
If you are missing an ordered item, contact us immediately using our contact form or call 772-285-0549. We will locate the item and bring it to you as soon as possible. After 24 hours, we can no longer be responsible for missing or substituted items. We “triple check” all orders when they are picked up, packed and before they are delivered. It is extremely important for us to know if we made any mistakes within 24 hours o we can fix them immediately.
How can I contact you?
The easiest ways to contact us is by emailing at firstname.lastname@example.org or filling out our contact form. You may call us at (772) 285-0549 between the hours of 9 AM – 6 PM Eastern Standard Time. As soon as we hear from you we will respond as quickly as possible (usually within 1-24 hours.) NOTE: We prefer to have your grocery list emailed to us so we have your recorded list. This eliminates errors and we hope you understand that to take your order over the phone we have to stop shopping and delivering in order to transcribe your list.
Can I order the same day I want my groceries delivered?
If you are ordering for same day delivery the order must be in by 10AM to be delivered by 6 PM the same day. You will be notified if we cannot meet the 6 PM delivery time. For all normal orders, we need to have time to pick out and deliver your grocery order, thus enabling us to offer you the highest level of service. If you order after 10AM it will be delivered the next day between 10AM to 6PM.
Do you have a minimum grocery order amount?
No. However, we ask that you call for orders larger than $300.00 because we have to adjust our schedule accordingly. Additionally, we will add $10 fee for the extra shopping time for orders larger than the $300. All orders large or small will incur the same base fee of $30.00 and $25.00 for Seniors, Veterans or Active Duty Military Families.
Can I change my order after it has been placed? What if there is an error on my list?
If you wish to change an order, please contact us (we prefer email for clarification purpose) with the items you would like to change (add or delete) at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled delivery time and we will make adjustments on your bill. We are not responsible for grocery lists that have errors or missing items on lists. We will attempt to call you if there is a glaring error on your grocery list that causes us to have a question. If you do not answer our phone call or do not call us back while we are shopping for you, we will obtain the item on your list that is stated and/or use our best judgement and we are not responsible for any errors which may result. Furthermore, we are not responsible for any missing grocery lists or communication problems with your grocery lists. Grocery lists must be clear when emailed and we require a new grocery list emailed to us, every time we shop for you. If you are unsure whether we received your emailed grocery list, please re-send or call us for an alternate email address.
How do I cancel an order?
Canceling an order can be completed by contacting us (again email preferred) and stating your name and request for cancellation. Orders need to be cancelled 24 hours prior to your arrival date. Cancellation after 24 hours will incur a $10.00 cancellation fee.
Where do you shop for groceries?
We currently shop at a number of grocery stores in the area. Our goal is to offer you the freedom to select your preferred store from the ones in your area. For Saint Lucie West those are Publix, Aldi and Walmart. We also pick up items at Walgreens and CVS, Nutrition Smart, and/or healthfood stores. If you want us to shop at Sams Club or BJ’s you must supply us with your membership card at a pre-arranged time. As new stores pop up, we will also shop at those, simply let us know of your preference. For gift shopping, name your store in the area and we will shop there too! NOTE: If you want us to shop at two different stores in one shopping trip and it is in addition to your one free errand, there is an additional $10 charge added to your fee.
What do you do if an item is out of stock?
We attempt to obtain every single item on your list. At times, the item (s) you choose may be out of inventory as about 80% of all grocery items are transported by ship or in poor condition at the store. If this is the case, we will contact you while we are in the store, to make an effort to find a suitable replacement.
What is your alcohol/tobacco policy?
We will only buy alcohol or tobacco products for adults (age 21 or older) who are present for delivery and have valid identification for us to check. In addition, the adult must sign a copy of the receipt for the alcohol/tobacco items purchased, for our records.
How do I know my order is secure?
At Grocery Shopping On Demand, we want you to feel safe while shopping with us. That’s why we use PayPal for our credit card processing.
Do you use coupons?
We will use any coupons that you provide. Here is a handy tip too: If you sign up for a Publix.com account, they have digital coupons plus printable coupons. Your digital coupons are tied to your telephone number used to sign up. You (or your shopper) can enter your telephone number on the key pad to redeem any digital coupons that apply to your order. It is that easy! (Check the Publix coupon policy and restrictions, however) If we use your coupons, and you save money on your receipt against the original estimate that we charged you for groceries, we will refund your debit/credit card for the difference. Other grocery delivery services or online grocery stores that deliver, pocket the manufacturer’s discount. We don’t, instead we charge a flat-fee with nothing hidden, so everyone knows what they are paying and we can keep our doors open. Happiness all around!
Do you mark up the prices like other online grocery stores?
Glad you asked! NO we do not. We offer a service where we shop at your chosen store, locally. The same prices your favorite local stores charge, is what you pay. We give you the receipt (for those out of town buying for a local loved one or friend, we will email you a picture of the receipt) and there are no mark-ups or hidden fees! If there is a BOGO, you get it; it is the same as though you were shopping yourself but with less stress and time expended!
Do you sell or trade my personal information?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! We value your privacy and ensure your information is protected and only used internally to improve your experience.
